Who's the victim...the salesperson or the customer?

YOU NOW HAVE THE CHANCE TO WIN A QUALITY FREE SUIT

Retail polarises opinions, depending on what side of the barrel you are on your experiences and stories will differ somewhat. Retail salespeople all have a story where their customer makes them wish that that 'barrel' would be pointed straight at them, and the figurative trigger would transport them from sales floor hell to a heaven filled with polite people with generous pockets.

Now...customers, its your turn. You see, the aim of Barclays Clothing is to provide an easier method of shopping, where our prices do the talking, the quality of garments do the persuading and the sales people provide polite unpressured advice. Therefore, we encourage all of our readers/visitors/customers to comment/send/post us their funniest, most awkward sales interaction they have encountered. With anything from a cheesy one-liner to blatant abuse of the label 'qualified salesperson', which made them feel like having control of that 'figurative trigger'.

THE WINNER to be judged by us here at Barclays Clothing will receive a FREE SUIT (RRP $725, 100% Wool) - yes that's right...your misfortune will now be rewarded by US, that's how much we love a good story after all that's what the industry is built on! This promotion is running from the start of this post until the end of January, so get writing people!

The Barclays Blog Spot

Welcome!

The push for digital representation for all industries is undoubtable. Boundaries that were once concrete are now being pushed aside, and replaced by varying accompaniments of mediums with which to communicate with the market. These communications are now not only restricted to one-way selling, as now individuals can have their say in what they like, dislike and even what they would like to see changed.

Therefore listening to the demands of the market is essential, Barclays has always offered a personalised experience, with one-on-one service offered in its stores, and this Blog is an extension of this notion. Now people can access fashion advice, reviews, promotions, up coming events, etc. right here. We have always encouraged our retail customers to have their own say in product design, tailoring (it often seems to them that there is a whip involved!) and even in the product range purchased for the store (believe it or not people, your "that looks terrible" or "who would wear that?" often muttered when the salesperson turns their back is heard...and yes we use this as 'constructive criticism', albeit the 'significant others' aim is often 'destructive', and accompanied by a "let's just go...I'm hungry").

The recent merger of Barclays and Claude Sebastian (to be called the latter); located in Martin Place, has been well received by both loyal customer bases, and should be a destination on anyone's weekend shopping list, if not for the international labels as a drawcard (Hugo Boss, Ted Baker, Kenzo, Valentino) then for the vertical garden, or just for a cheeky vino downstairs on your lunch break from the office (ohh and at the manager's request- please don't feed the tailors!). For many, this avant-garde 'concept' store represents the future of the retail clothing industry and the main reason for the revival of destination shopping. However, the brother store- Barclays was once at the forefront of a clothing industry over hall (circa 1950, Sydney CBD), and thankfully for the corporate market, Barclays has used this time to refine its offering, being able to cater from the young (even you skinny school formal fellas!) to the old...tall (thanks to Australian Rugby Union International Thomas Bowman's 201cm frame, serving several years amongst the Barclays sales ranks), short...fast (the 156km/hr speedster Brett Lee has his own label sold exclusively within our business, and yet is still humble enough to still be part of the sales team, therefore a dual veteran: 10 years for the Australian Cricket team and 15 years for the Barclays Sales Team)...and the list goes on. It is to be seen, Barclays still offers its retail services from the historic Dymocks Building (Level 1, 428 George St, Sydney; Ph: 92322270), facilitated in a retail form, appointment basis, corporate packages (evenings - with great incentives!) and in house sales presentations.

Therefore we encourage everyone to use our website http://www.barclaysclothing.com/ and this blog spot for fashion advice, ideas, enquiries, reviews and for the customisation of the your individual product/package needs/wants.
